G&J Industry delighted at the Domestic Council’s maiden B2B event, India Gem and Jewellery Show 2022

All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council that represents India’s G&J manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, distributors, laboratories, gemologists, designers and the entire gamut of allied services, launched their premiere trade event, India Gem & Jewellery Show 2022 on April 2, with goodwill and support from the entire Indian jewellery segment. The Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines, Government of India, Raosaheb Danve was the chief guest of honour who was invited to inaugurate this maiden event. Ashish Pethe, Chairman of the GJC, Saiyam Mehra , Vice Chairman & Convener GJS, Avinash Gupta and Nilesh Shobhawat, Co Conveners of GJS and GJC COA's accompanied by industry delegates launched the first ever Domestic Council event with much pomp and fanfare. A mandali of dhol and sringa played loud at the inaugural welcome ceremony, followed by the auspicious lamp lighting pooja and the ribbon cutting ritual.

GJC, the apex industry body managed to bring the entire jewellery value chain across India successfully at the Show. The venue was Jio World Convention Centre - India’s largest convention facility is a stunning landmark and strategically located in the heart of Mumbai. Spanning over 4 days, over 600 exhibitors with 1277 booths and more than  12000 registered visitors the show is all set for a roaring success. The well-planned educational seminars, with enlightening topics and a comprehensive list of industry speakers have added a unique value to this mega show. 

Union Minister Raosaheb Danve, said, “I thank Ashish Pethe, Chairman, All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council, Saiyam Mehra, Vice Chairman, GJC, and all jewellery industry representatives who have make India glitter with such an amazing show. I am really glad that this show is being organized in Mumbai. Trust is the foundation of the governance philosophy of our government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We should make the nation self-reliant in jewellery by substituting imported volume with domestic products which will be the real vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.” The minister underlined the importance of trust and how it is instrumental to the gem and jewellery sector.

The show has been a grand success with a large number of visitors and attendees participated. Jewellery manufactured by Indian artisans are well appreciated in the global markets. We will continue to make efforts to make Indian Aatmanirbhar in jewellery as guided by Danveji.”
  
Saiyam Mehra, Vice Chairman of All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) and Convener of GJS, said, “GJS 2022 has received an overwhelming response from the Indian jewellery community. The enthusiasm shown by the participants, exhibitors and visitors were really amazing. I thank the minister Raosaheb Danveji for having inaugurated the show. We will look forward to work in consultation with the government for the betterment of the Indian jewellery industry.”
